Joseph Grigsby
Webb noted that Grigsby's Bluff above the Neches River is the location of the Joseph Grigsby home. He had received land from Lorenzo de Zavala in 1834 and built his house after the Battle of San Jacinto.
He established a “peck” sawmill on Grigsby's Bluff above the Neches River sometime before his death in 1841.
Simon Wiess bought the mill and moved it upriver to Wiess Bluff.
