T. H. Furrh
The Furrh family gave its name to both the local sawmill and to the community about three miles south of De Berry. About 1870, John Furrh operated a sawmill and grist mill, providing the area with cornmeal and lumber. His son was operating the mill about 1885 and had added a general store to his operations.
