Vansickle & Barber
Vansycle & Pruitt were listed in the Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association, January 1905 edition as sawmillers at Sugar Hill, and again in 1907. The Panola County records note the name as “Vansickle.” Apparently, by 1907, Vansickle's partner was a man named Barber. They mortgaged on that day a 44-inch by 14-foot boiler and a side-crank Chandler steam engine with Southern Trading Company. On January 22, 1907, F. Vansickle mortgaged “One Saw Mill Complete” with A. B. Palmore, as Trustee. F. Van Sickle mortgaged with Walter Connally for a No. 2 Mississippi three-saw edger on March 23, 1907. F. Van Sickle sold J. W. Cooke, a local bank cashier, 500,000 feet of lumber on October 18, 1907, plus 100,000 shingles stacked at Ballinson's shingle mill.
