The sawmill, d a capital value of $4,500, employed ten men at peak and five men normally. The employees received daily wages of $1.25 to $2.50 for nine hour days in the winters and ten hour days in the summer. The business paid a total wage of $2,800 to its workers.
The sawmill had a business relationship with George W. Coit's brick and tile firm, which employed three men and three children at a daily wage of $.75 for ten-hour shifts.
