L. Mason

Charles W. Fisher, Sr., built and operated a mill at Seven Oaks in Polk County sometime during the 1870s. It continued operations until he moved to Liberty County in the 1880s and opened the Liberty Lumber Company. The mill came under the control of L. Mason thereafter. A newspaper reported that the mill was cutting 30,000 feet daily in 1893. This mill was cutting and sawing lumber under contract to W. H. Norris Lumber Company, at Houston, in 1899.
Two photocopies of the abandoned L. Mason and Charles N. Fisher sawmill at Seven Oaks in 1902 and 1907 are included in the East Texas Sawmill Data Base Project files at the Texas Forestry Museum.
