Oney Brothers

The Oney Brothers (John, William, and W. E. and R.) mill was located about twenty miles northwest of Marshall in 1906. Beginning in May, they bought a steam boiler, saws , and an edger for $520. They next month they got a circular saw and were in business. By December, they were selling sizable amounts of milled lumber. Bob Bowman, in an unsigned article in the Crosscut, wrote that the Oney Bros mill began about 1900 and ran to about 1915.
