According to the Directory of Texas Manufacturers, 1956-1958 the Red River Lumber Company at Bagwell was established in 1930. In 1956, Ed Jones as managed a workforce of less than twenty-five, which was producing pine and hardwood lumber. Samson listed the company in 1957 and 1966.
