Montgomery Wilkinson & Co.
The Montgomery Wilkinson & Co. mill in 1850 was one of the biggest in the state of Texas. Valued at $23,000, it cut one million feet of lumber valued at $15,000. Eighteen men, averaging $12 each monthly, and two women, averaging $8 each monthly, worked at the mill. Raw materials included 100,000 logs at $2,700.
The mill is not listed in the Census of 1860.
