According to the The Heritage of Rusk County, Texas, the earliest sawmill at Brachfield was the Clinton-Phillips operation. It was located on the Douglas Bunn property, where later the last sawmill at Brachfield, Jones and Fears, operated in the 1940s and 1950s.
