R. W. and Madison Humphreys

Southern Industrial & Lumber Review reported that the Humphreys mill at Rebecca in 1906 was manufacturing 10,000 feet daily. According to San Augustine county records, Madison Humphrey mortgaged $150 with R. W. Humphrey for commissary merchandise “now in commissary formerly occupied by R. W. Humphrey at Tebo in Sabine County,” and a sawmill that was “formerly known as the Payne and Noble sawmill boilers and all machinery, 4 iron rim log wagons; the stock of merchandise is now in a house at above sawmill in San Augustine County.”
