A new Langford Lumber Company at Mt Enterprise was organized in 1973 with Norris Langford, Jr., as owner. The sawmill complex provided forty jobs. Sawlogs were harvested from 4,000 acres close to the mill. Capacity was 45 million board feet per year, but the mill was cutting at one-third that rate. Langford Lumber joined the Southern Pine Association in 1973.
