Walker Brothers Lumber Company

Walker Brothers Lumber Company had began operating a circular sawmill near Hallsville in 1925. They had another sawmill in Longview in 1957. The map at page 32 in Bunt's book reveals that Walker Brothers over the years operated three sawmills and two planing mills as well as provided a Walker commissary for the tenants of the mill town housing. All of these structures were located along Walker's Mill Road and off the two southern-most lanes opening to the east from the Road.
