Clifford Harvey
Ben Polk had a sawmill, grist mill, and cotton gin powered by steam machinery in San Augustine County. In 1905 he was taxed by the county on products and boilers and again in 1909 on tools and boilers. In December 1909 Clifford Harvey mortgaged $666 with Ben Polk for his 20-horsepower steam boiler, 15-horsepower steam engine, a grist mill, a 70-saw cotton gin stand, cotton feed and press, cotton scales, and sawmill complete.
