L & R Timber

Ricky Lout told Vernon Beasley that the L & R Timber Company was a family operation, located three miles north of San Augustine on Highway 96. Its primary product is chips made with an eight-four inch precision chipper. Ninety percent of the product is exported, with the largest foreign market being Japan.
Bob Currie's article in Texas Logger of September 1993 reports that Combs Enterprises ships small hardwood chipping wood to L & R at San Augustine.
