On 27 Mar 1924, Leach Brothers mortgaged for $500 sawmill machinery at their sawmill location on Ed Kennon land, about eight miles northwest of San Augustine (p. 105). That same day they sold to J. O. Payne all the lumber cut at their mill and to be cut at their mill until the mortgage was paid off (p. 107).
