Richards Tie Mill
Maxie Martin, an oldtime resident of San Augustine County, noted in an interview with Vernon L. Beasley that W. H. and Bobby Richards operated a tie mill at Bland Lake from about 1900 to sometime into the teens. According to San Augustine County bill of sale records, W. H. Richards on 29 March 1921 sold a Fairbanks-Morse gasoline 15-horsepower motor and a #3 sawmill to W. F. Flournoy.
Willie Flournoy bought a sawrig and clutch pulley for $329 on October 6, 1919. He may have been operating a sawmill somewhere in San Augustine County.
