Weldon Beasley, in an oral interview with Vernon L. Beasley, noted that the Robert B. Rowe sawmill has been operating at San Augustine on Highway 95 since the late 1980s. It mills ties, pallets, and posts. Rowe has a second mill five miles west of San Augustine.
