T. W. Blount

The 1880 Special Schedules of Manufactures, Schedules 5 and 6, list T. W. Blount as operating a sawmill industry with a capitalization of $1000. Operating on an ten-hour daily summer and eight-hour daily winter schedule, the three men employees were paid at the rate of $2.00 a day for a skilled mechanic and $.75 a day for unskilled labor. The annual wages paid totaled $200 for three operational months. Raw materials were valued at $500 for logs and $50 for mill supplies. The mill produced 100,000 feet of lumber for a total value of $1,000.
