C. M. Yates bought a portable sawmill from J. G. Rhodes Lumber Company, which had acquired it from Bobo, Baucum & Nelson, who had bought if from B. J. Hawthorn. C. M. Yates later moved the mill to San Jacinto County, where it was was purchased by W. P. Evans Lumber Co. in 1944.
