Ed Conway and E. C. Smith

On April 28, 1911, Ed Conway and E. C. Smith mortgaged to Dilley & Son for a 20-horsepower gasoline engine and a #3 Curtis sawmill. Conway and Smith were probably planning to operate a portable sawmill in Shelby County. Ed Conway was listed as a “sawmiller” in the 1910 census, living at Precinct 2, residence 275, probably on the Neuville-Shelbyville road.
