H. R. Sanford.

A sawmill belonging to H. R. Bridges in Shelby County changed hands twice after 1900. Its location is uncertain. Bridges mortgaged to Hall & Brown in 1903 for $2,000 a double Mississippi planer-matcher, eight sets of knives or cutting heads, a moulder, a Tower trimmer, and a 36-inch bandsaw. Sometime later he sold to Matthews, who in turned sold to Sanford by 1909. Sanford & Martin purchased a shingle machine, boiler and engine from J. B. Cain's mill north of center, and mortgaged it with T. E. Jones for $1,200 in 1909.
