J. E. Stone Lumber Co

Originally J. E. Stone was in the cotton ginning business. When the boll weevil destroyed cotton business, Stone rebuilt the gin as sawmill, milling at Pine Hill, Carthage in at least 1928, Center, and then Nacogdoches. As of October 1943, J. E. Stone also operated a sawmill at San Augustine.
