J. T. Harris Lumber Company

Southern Industrial and Lumber Review reported that this mill was manufacturing 10,000 feet daily in 1906. In 1907, Harris advertised that he manufactured all types of lumber. In 1906 and 1907 he mortgaged to Dilley & Son machinery . He did the same with First National Bank of Center in 1908. C. F. Parker acquired the mill from a mortgage he made to Harris in August 1906, probably taking possession in early 1908. Harris opened another mill about a mile away in partnership with J. W. Doster.
By 1908, C. F. Parker was having financial problems, continually mortgaging his lumber cut, both at the railyard and at his mill. He must have lost his mill on one of the mortgages, for by 1910, according to the Census, he was working as a filer in one of the mills.
In 1910, Doster was listed as a sawmiller living at Precinct 1, residence 239.
