Nona Mills Company

L. B. Pipkin of Jefferson County built a sawmill about twenty-two miles north of Kountze around the year 1884. He sold his interest in the mill to the Nona Mills Company on March 12, 1886. It is believed the mill continued to operate under new ownership for a few more years. By 1907, Pipkin had become secretary-treasurer of the Nona Mills Company. He also is listed in 1884 as having a mill at Kountze, Hardin County. This mill have operated as late as 1890.
