John Bauman

John Bauman, according to Dr. Woldert, who was raised in Tyler from the age of four in 1849, had a sawmill ten miles to the northwest of Tyler, north of Lollar's Crossing over the Neches and north of the river. Woldert writes that “Bauman had his mill among heavy pine virgin pine timber, and ran quite a number of years after the Civil War.”
