A newspaper reported in 1902 that a new box factory had been completed at Tyler, which would be able to supply the need for boxes and crates for the fruit and truck growers of the county. The Tyler Box & Lumber Company company was listed in the Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association, January 1905 and again in 1907.
