He employed twenty men at peak production and ten normally. The workers were paid $.60 to $1.50 daily for eleven-hour shifts; the firm paid out a total wage of $300. In two fulltime months, the sawmill, from $825 in supplies and sawlogs, milled 150,000 feet of lumber worth $1,500.
