Davis, Davis, and Brogden

"This Everlasting Sand Bed": Cultural Resources Investigations at the Texas Big Sandy Project, Wood and Upshur Counties, Texas reported that a sawmill existed in the border area near Rhonesboro on the Wood and Upshur County lines. The original mill was a combination cotton gin and grist mill powered by animals. By 1883, E. E. Elder, the new owner of the mill, installed a sawmill as well. The final owners were Davis, Davis and Brogden, who stopped milling by 1887.
