at Nancy

Nancy was one of the locations for the Angelina County Lumber Company logging fronts from about 1918 to the 1930s. It had a post office, a commissary, a school, several tenant houses as well as boxcar houses. It was moved to Acol in the 1930s.
133 white pupils enrolled in Nancy school during the 1929-1930 school year.
Webb reported that the community was named for Nancy Kelty and was established in 1923 by Angelina County Lumber Company. Two hundred tenant houses were built along with a commissary and company offices. By 1930, the post office had been discontinued.
