The John A. Mathis sawmill was listed in the Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association, January 1907. J. A. Graham, J. T. Baird, and J. A. Mathis, the owners of a new sawmill located at Pinacle on the St Louis Southwestern, contracted in 1907 to sell the sawmill cut to Mathis.
