Summit Lumber Company

The Summit Lumber Company sawmill at Summit appeared in the Galveston Weekly News in 1893 as cutting 30,000 board feet of lumber per day. This may be the mill that the Weekly News of August 14, 1889, reported that David J. Williams, Sr., built after his mill at Kountze was destroyed by a hurricane in 1886. The Summit mill was probably located in Hardin County.
