Robertson
According to the The History of Van Zandt County, Texas, the first gin, sawmill, and grist mill in Van Zandt County was operated by J. H. Robertson. Operations were run at his farm, about twelve miles southwest of Canton. The mill would have to have been running before 1850, for only the G. Davis sawmill in Van Zandt County was enumerated that year in the Census.
