Moody & Wells

This sawmill was listed in the Southern Lumberman's Directory of American Saw Mills and Planing Mills. The company also had a commissary for its workers and operated a tram road. This is probably the same sawmill known as Moody that is listed in "This Everlasting Sand Bed": Cultural Resources Investigations at the Texas Big Sandy Project, Wood and Upshur Counties, Texas as located in Wood County during the 1920s. If this assumption is correct, the mill would have been northeast of Quitman while the office was located at Mineola.
