J. C. Hill Lumber Company
This company was first listed in the Reference Book of the Lumbermen's Credit Association, January 1907 as a manufacturer of yellow pine lumber and red cypress lumber and shingles at Houston. The company also had at least two sawmills at or near Dodge before 1910. On February 1, 1910, J. C. Hill Lumber Company contracted with George C. Vaughan to sell its lumber to Vaughan for marketing.
J. C. Hill Lumber accepted a mortgage from Ziegler & Killingsworth for a planing mill and sawmill located about just west of Dodge. The latter contracted its output to J. C. Hill Lumber and received permission to move the mill to “Blue Hole” about three miles northwest of Dodge on Wysinger Road.
