Roy Anders Lumber Company

Alma Lee Cline reentered sawmilling in 1943 and sold his A. L. Cline Lumber Company to O. F. Adams and H. N. Phillips on September 29, 1945, for $10,000. This mill was initially located at Cline Street, two miles from the courthouse, then later moved to FM-1374, Montgomery Road. The equipment included, four axes, two trucks, two Nabors trailors, one complete sawmill with with a double edger and trimmer, a cutoff saw, dust conveyor, one 501 Continental power unit, one 56” circular saw, three 48” saws, and one mill building.
Although the A. L. Cline Lumber Company at Huntsville was still listed by that name in the 1957 edition of the Directory of Wood-Using and Related Industries in East Texas, the R. C. Harper Lumber Company had bought the Cline operation in 1950. When Harper Lumber Company had defaulted on mortgages to Roy Anders Motor Company, the latter took over the property as the Roy Anders Lumber Company.
