Taylor Randolph

The Taylor Randolph sawmill operation, according to the 1870 Census Products of Industry Schedule, was d to be a capital investment of $4,000. Investments in raw materials included $600 in 1,200 pines, $600 in 200 cords of wood for fuel, fifty-two files worth $40, and twenty gallons of oil worth $20. Six men were paid $1,680 for twelve months of operations. The sawmill manufactured 225,000 feet of lumber valued at $3,375.
