M. E. Davidson, while having other sawmill interests in Houston County, bought an interest in a sawmill south of Holly in 1948 from W. H. Phillips, according to Houston County records. Property transferred included a Cunningham sawmill, an edger, two trimmers, a slab conveyor, a bull wheel, a sawmill shop, four wagons and four teams, an Hercules 130-horsepower power unit.
