Interstate Lumber Company
The Beaumont Journal noted this new mill of the Interstate Lumber Company at High Island was capable of 75,000 feet daily. Its superintendent, P. E. Parmenter (sometimes spelled Parminter), became the company's first mill superintendent at Odelia the following year, indicating the High Island mill was closed and moved to the Odelia location, which was bought by Nona Mills Company.
