Olive, Sternenberg and Company

Sidney C. Olive and John Abraham Sternenberg began operating their planing mill in Houston about 1870. Little is known about it, other than it could cut a daily capacity of 33,000 feet, which was respectable for the place and time. The company expanded into the growing Beaumont market in 1876. In 1881, the planing mill at Houston was closed and moved to Beaumont.
