Bean Lumber Company
Kirby Lumber Company records noted that the Bean Lumber Company owned “a little sawmill at Kirbyville” during the 1920s. It is possible that Kirby had a crosstie contract with this mill in 1922 to 1923. The Bean Lumber Company sawmill was still operating at Kirbyville in 1928. Bean Lumber Company was probably the company that replaced contract cutting for Kirby's tram road needs, when R. G. Brown Hardwood Company picked up in 1923 at Voth and fled the obligation of its contract.
