Smyth Mill

George W. Smyth and J. D. Smyth built a small mill at a point below Beaumont known as Smyth's Bluff on the Neches River. In a year or two they moved it to Beaumont. It was described by the Beaumont Journal as a sawmill town in 1871, thirty-four miles from Deweyville.
