According to Strapac, Gerhart Lumber Company of Laurelia in 1913 bought a steam locomotive from the Hilgard Lumber Company. The Hilgard sawmill plant at Laurelia had burned down in 1910 and had not been rebuilt. The locomotive had been used in Hilgard tram operations. Gerhart Lumber was probably a logging company that used tram operations to access timber.
