Hays & Webb Lumber Company tram road

J. A. Hays and Webb owned a lumber company and sawmill in Walker County in 1890. That year they defaulted on loans and had to sell their mill and equipment. Included was their tram road operation, consisting of a tram engine, ten tram cars, and three-quarters of a mile of tram road. The engine and six of the tram cars had been bought from Peter and Frank Josserand of Montgomery County.
