Donnelly Lumber Company at Virgie, near Mill Creek, in Montgomery County, sold its mill and assets to the Lake Creek Lumber Company, in November, 1907. The Lake Creek Lumber Company should not be confused with the company of the same name working in 1897 as part of the Edward N. Oualline interests.

Among the assets sold to Lake Creek Lumber were a 10-ton Shay locomotive and a tram road. The Lake Creek Lumber Company sold a 38-ton to the Caro Northern Railroad in 1909.
