Nona Mills Company at Fannett
The Nona Mills Company bought the Interstate Lumber Company facility at Fannett, near Odelia, in Jefferson County, in 1906. Nona Mills, a Beaumont Lumber Company subdivision, operated the mill until 1915.
The Gulf & Interstate Railway Company may have been the former owner of the mill and provided connections from Odelia to Beaumont, over which the milled lumber from Odelia could be shipped. The American Lumberman noted, in 1906, that Nona Mills operated a short tram of four miles over which operated two locomotives.
