R. E. Trabue tram road
R. E. Trabue owned a sawmill and opeated a small tram about two miles north of Carthage. It was probably purchased from H. C. and M. E. Pittman on December 15, 1900, for $1600. He sold it before May 17, 1904, because on that date he sold three miles of thirty-five pound steel rails, stacked at this �old� sawmill, to W. G. Ragley. Trabue had earlier bought a Lima 2T Shay from Jefferson Lumber Company, which he later sold to A. C. Boynton of Carthage and used at Panola. The gauge was 36-inch because the Lima, later owned by Kirby, had to rebuilt to standard gauge from 36-inch.
