R. G. Brown and J. J. Flewellen Lumber Company tram road

R. G. Brown gave a deed of trust to T. J. Freeman so that the Brown tram road could run from the western part of Longview, where the Brown sawmill was located, a total of eleven miles northerly into Upshur County. Some of Brown's sawtimber was situated twelve miles east of Gilmer on the banks of the Little Cypress Bayou. The Brown and Flewellen Lumber Company of Longview dissolved in January 1908 when R. G. Brown bought out J. J. Flewellen. The sale included a nine-mile tram that ran nine miles north from Longview, all sawmills, planers, warehouses, commissaries, etc. The sale price was $5,000.

Keeling lists one narrow gauge geared steam locomotive that operated on the tram road.
