According to Webb Texas Tram & Lumber Company opened a logging camp at Magnolia Springs in 1882. Located on Wright Creek, wich emptied into the Neches River, the company used Wright’s Landing to float logs down the river to Beaumont. The camp was moved to Kirbyville in 1894.
